Dr. Peets’ Teaching Tip of the Week

"After you discipline a student, let it go. Don't carry over to the next day. Treat every day as a new slate for each child. Everyone has a bad day sometimes and nobody likes to be reminded of it." ~ Anonymous

We all make mistakes and we all need forgiveness. No one ever has enjoyed being reminded of their failures. Celebrate the wins and you will see less negative behaviors.

TCI Tip of the Week from Ange:

Intentional Use of Self: (self awareness, self regulation, relationship skills, and self care) is important to be able to help others - put your oxygen mask on first!

SEL/MTSS Tip #2

SEL Tip #3 - As we work to strengthen the skills of our students (academically, behaviorally, etc) we always want to anchor it in data - our goal is to be data informed and people driven.   Panorama Ed is a great resource to use to check on the current status of your students.  (*REMINDER - you log in with google) Attendance, behavior, academics - are they meeting standards (green), slightly below and may need a boost or targeted skills group (yellow) - or in need of a little more targeted support (red)? Interventions are about how the adults adjust their practices and offer support. Benchmarking is happening, formative assessments and first unit tests are ongoing - how are you continuously reviewing student learning to adjust your practices?  If you don’t know where to start check out the Panorama Playbook for possible interventions to try!
